2011 Valley Forge Trail Hike
On Saturday, May 20, 2011, the troop returned to Valley Forge National Park to hike the park's historic trail. We had a chance to spend more time in the wooded areas in the park and to see more of the historic sights, including General Washington's headquarters and the cabins that the soldiers lived in. We also saw the railroad station where Scouts from around the country arrived to take part in the 1950, 1957, and 1964 National Jamborees. Youth members Adam, Steve, Jeff, Hunter, Matt, Adam, Ian, Tom, Matt, Nick, and Andrew participated in the approximately eight mile hike and earned the Valley Forge Historic Trails Medal. Steven Klassner, Griff Lewis, Joe Piela, Drew Yurkanin, Ken Srebro, Bob Buchinski, and Frank Klassner were scout leaders for the trip. |
