Dickson City offers scouts of both its troops an uncommon opportunity for seeing how borough government works. Besides Scranton and Lackawanna County, only Dickson City periodically conducts a "Scout Day in Government" event for scouts to learn how their local government, law enforcement, and fire protection services work. In April 2007 Troop 21 scouts Julian, Rico, Joey, Dominick, Bruce, Clayton, and Jordan along with scouts from Troop 322 served in various government and town service positions for the day, and learned about the positions from the adult office-holders. Nick Rocco, John Maza, Joe Faltynowicz, and William Kropa were attending scout leaders. We're very grateful to Mayor Anthony Zaleski and William Kropa for organizing this educational event.
