We believe this picture was taken in the late spring of 1941. It shows the three scouting
units that St. Mary's was then sponsoring: Cub Pack 21, Troop 21, and Troop 24. The lowest two rows of boys are
Cub Scouts, and the next five rows of boys are scouts from the two troops intermingled. Both troops are wearing
deep green neckerchiefs, but Troop 24's boys are wearing neckerchiefs with yellow-orange edges,
while Troop 21's boys are wearing neckerchiefs with dark red edges (which, in this photo, make the neckerchiefs
look solid).
Monsignor Stanislaus Spotanski is seated in the center, with Scoutmaster Chester Golinski and Cubmaster John Babinski to
the right of Monsignor. We have reason to believe that in the top row of youth members, the taller boy with the merit badge
sash (second from the right end) is Emeryk Zenty, who would earn Eagle Scout in 1942 and would later give his life for his
country in 1945 during World War II. The man behind him is committee member Frank Srebro; committee member Peter Bielinski
is to the left of Mr. Srebro.
