Sea Scout Ship 21 Founding Membership Portrait The picture on the left was scanned from a 1978 clipping from the Scranton Tribune's "Remember 'Way Back" feature. The original picture was taken in April 1934 and shows the first crew of the Sea Scout Ship Swan. The Ship was founded by some of the earliest members of Troop 21 and operated from 1934 to 1941 when it was disbanded as its members entered World War II military service. Clicking on that picture will show an enlarged version with members' names. The picture on the right was taken at the same time in St. Mary's school auditorium.
